My role as a photographer of weddings and civil ceremonies, is to capture the essence of the day; the drama, excitement, tension and of course the joy.
I am there for the whole day from the bride's preparation (if required), the ceremony and reception until the first dance. I try to be creative in the capture of the emotions of the day, the humour and the little details over which you have taken so much care.
When you view the photographs afterwards I want you to be able to re-live the events you created and see those that perhaps you missed.
I do not have a particular style - I take photographs whether they are traditional, reportage or candid. All pictures are taken on high resolution professional digital cameras in available light whenever possible. There is usually a mixture of groups and singles, formal and relaxed. Whatever seems right at the time!
I place much emphasis on the pre-wedding shoot. This is the opportunity for us to meet and ideally, visit together the church and reception venue. We can discuss the photography with the vicar and the hotel wedding co-ordinator. I like to plan the location of the shots and you are on hand to tell me what style and arrangement of photographs you want. We can discuss your priorities (the must-have shots), and your preferences and dislikes. You can choose in advance if you prefer, to have colour photographs, black and white or a mixture of both. The time spent in preparation gives us a guide so we can maximise the time we have on your wedding day to use it to best effect.
At the pre-wedding shoot, I try to photograph you in a favourite local location or activity. This helps you to become familiar with having me around and to practise positioning which is a great way to get rid of any inhibitions about being photographed and to feel relaxed in a pose. The photographs will be yours to keep and the cost is included in the package.
